pride was in our hearts before we were born
you cant remove it, its a cause forlorn

fed like a drug, it fills you up like a jug
feels like the greatest satisfaction
but its just the fastest path to destruction

theres a saying pride comes before a fall
but theres a preceding walk through a grand hall
magnificent and beautiful, a sight to behold
applause and recognition, u dont want to let go

then ur ushered out of the hall, the doors are closed
pain amidst loneliness, all because of what u chose
darkness engulfs you, the dreadful after effects
our heads lifted high, we often forget our countless defects

pride is the devil's greatest tool
at the end of the day, we all have a choice
we dont have to fall into temptation pool
rejecting it allows us to rejoice


i was just thinking about pride so i wrote this poem, lol i know its abit screwed up, im tired okay. lol but yeah i wrote it because i was wondering why humans are so proudful. take me for example, 90% of the hurts in my life have come as a result of me being prideful, when ur proud, ur fall is ultimately alot more painful than a normal setback or obstacle in ur way, dont you think so? lol.


wouldnt it be good if we cld have no pride? but no pride is also a bad thing, imagine if u have no pride, no dignity, u wldnt care about urself, like u cant stand up for urself kinda thing. so its so weird dont you think? no pride or pride, also bad. lol. might as well dig a hole in the ground and hide. lol.


pride is like fuel, people's comments are like sparks, when they meet, all there exists is destruction and hurt, when a person's pride gets hurt, not only does he experience self destruction, he also wld tend to hurt the people around, as a means to make oneself feel better by taking revenge etc. so at the end of the day, pride is just a screwed up thing, but it also helps people stand up for what they believe in.


lol this world... is a funny world. but life is still great anyway. :)
